New this year - Shorts will be allowed!

There is a misprint in the Student Handbook.  On pg. 23 under "Lorena High School Dress Code,"  number 13 states that no shorts or short type clothing is allowed.  LHS will allow students to wear shorts.  However, shorts must be no more than 3 inches above the kneecap with the student in an upright standing position.  A quick way to check for appropriate length is to use a standard credit card, business card, or student ID badge.

LHS Hosts "Fish Camp" on Aug 24th

A special program designed for incoming 9th grade students at Lorena High School will be provided on Friday, August 24 from 1:00-3:00pm in the HS Commons.

The agenda will include activities to familiarize students with the high school staff, daily schedule, facilities, policies and procedures. Students who attend will have access to their schedules at that time and have an opportunity to locate classrooms and lockers. Pictures will be taken for student ID badges. Parents are encouraged and welcome to attend!

The goal of these activities is to provide an added level of comfort for “Fish” as they move to a new campus.

LHS Cheer Spirit Soars at NCA Camp

The 2012-2013 LHS Varsity Cheer Squad attended a National Cheerleading Association camp held at Tarleton State University in June.  The squad had an outstanding showing throughout the week.  They received Superior Evaluations and earned the coveted "Spirit Stick" daily.  They were one of only two schools to receive a spirit stick on the first day of camp.  Every member of the squad was nominated by the NCA staff to try out for the NCA All American Cheerleader Team.  LHS Cheer had a total of eight members who earned All American Honors this year. The most in school history and more than any other school attending the camp!  Congratulations Ladies!
