Halloween is in the air!

As you enter the high school office you will notice some pumpkins to the right.  Nancy Wood had the idea to add some October spirit to the office.  She bought some pumpkins and asked Mrs. Rosas and the art department to paint them using our campus theme.  The picture to the right is the result.  A big thanks to Nancy Wood for taking the initiative to be creative!

Staff member of the month!

Each month a staff member is recognized at a faculty meeting for “Exceeding Expectations”.   LHS employees may be  nominated by students, colleagues, and parents to be placed in a drawing to receive a token of appreciation.

This month’s recipient was Debbie Voiles.  Debbie was nominated by Mrs. Swepston for regularly going above and beyond the call of duty to be helpful.  The person who nominated the winner has an opportunity to talk about the nomination during the presentation at a faculty meeting.   Mrs. Swepston said Mrs. Voiles is always patient with her and willing to help her with whatever whenever.

Our  LHS Robotics Team will be participating in the BEST Robotics Competition Mall Day at Richland Mall tomorrow from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  Robotics teams from all over the Central Texas area will be practicing on the official “Playing Field”.  The event tomorrow will not be judged and is held to give us a chance to try out our machines.

Team LHS will be fine tuning their robot tomorrow morning and plan on being at the mall by noon.  If you happen to be shopping, you should drop by and see how the teams are doing.

The team will be at the official competition next Thursday, October 25 at TSTC and Saturday, October 27, at the Ferrell Center.
