Lorena Senior announced as a National Merit Scholarship Finalist

Dustin George has been designated as a Finalist in the National Merit Scholarship competition.  There are 15,000 Finalists and from those 8,300 Merit Scholars winners will be selected.  That selection is now in progress and those winners will be announced in March.  Dustin’s achievement is based on his performance on the P-SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test taken in October of his Junior year. Dustin plans to attend college upon graduation.  He is still considering his college options.  Soon, he will decide between MIT, Baylor and Rose Hulman. Dustin plans to major in mechanical engineering.  He is actively involved in LHS.  His extracurricular activities include band, one act play, robotics, UIL academics, football and computerized game design.  He also holds leadership positions at his church in the youth and children's ministry.  In his spare time he works at Chick-Fil-A.
Congratulations Dustin on being a Finalist!  We are so proud of you!
