Physics Bowl Results

LHS participated in Baylor's first Physics Bowl Competiton Saturday, February 15th.  Our team consisted of:

Jacob Mathis

Lauren Wilfong

Beth Vonasek

Jenette McQuerry

Congratulations to these students on their awards! 

Individual Award:  Jacob Mathis, written test, 3rd place!!

Team Award: Experimental Design, 1st Place!!!

We also took first place in one of the two "Jeopardy" style matches!

Regional UIL Results & State Qualifier

The UIL Regional Academic Qualifiers competed in Brenham, TX at Blinn College.

In Accounting, Michael Franklin took 10^th place; Calculator Applications, James Crepelle took 30^th; Number Sense, Dustin George took 13^th; and Ready Writing, Andee Fonseca took 7^th place.

In Science, Dustin George came in 2^nd with a score of 96 and qualified for the UIL State Meet in Austin on May 22^nd.   Dustin has been working hard for the last four years and his work paid off. Dustin is also be eligible for UIL TILF Scholarship.  Special thanks to UIL Academic Coaches: Rachel Roessler and Kathy Westerfield for helping out on the trip to Brenham and coaching the Science and Accounting students. And a big  “thank you,” goes  to UIL Academic Coaches: Debbie Crum (Math), Robin Holt (Ready Writing, Spelling and Vocabulary, Lit. Crit.), Kathy Rolan (Current Issues and Events), and Janice Vonasek (Social Studies) for their work and preparation of the students.
