Band Concert

Come join us this Tuesday at 7:00 pm and get into the holiday spirit as the LHS Band performs its 2016 Christmas Concert! Performances will include large ensemble pieces, small group music, jazz band conducted by Cami Mathusek, and an original composition written by one of our students! The performance is in the PAC and we would love to see you there!

The LHS Choir will presents the Sounds of Christmas at 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 15th.  The performance will be held in the Lorena Performing Arts Center.  We hope to see you there!

Mr. Leopard Pageant


PALs third Annual Mr. Leopard Pageant will be held on Saturday, December 10th at 6:00 PM.  Tickets are now on sale.  

The PALs are collecting wigs, old make-up, large women's shoes, costume jewelry and gowns/dresses for the upcoming pageant.  They are also collecting used craft and school supplies, board games, cards, dominoes, balls, and toys for use in the program.  Please turn in your donations to Mrs. Key.

Drumline

Congratulations to Isaac Romer for placing 2nd in tenors, Becca Virnau for placing 4th in snare and Hannah Deeds for placing 3rd on multi percussion at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC)!  The competition was held in Indianapolis, Indiana.  All of our students performed well and did an outstanding job!

Cross Country

Congratulations to Isaac Gallegos for placing 23rd at the State Cross Country meet finishing a fantastic season!  We are proud of Isaac and his accomplishment!

Football Bi-District Champions

Congratulations to the Football team for becoming Bi-District Champions!!!  The Leopards played a great game and beat Gonzales 48-3.  The Leopards will play Liberty High School on Friday at 7:30 PM.  The game will be played at A&M Consolidated High School.  Good luck Leopards!

Veteran's Day Program

Lorena High School welcomes all veterans to our annual Veteran's Day Program on November 11th at 9:45 AM in the Performing Arts Center.  We will have an hour long program to honor those who have served.  Invite your family members or friends who have served.  Everyone is welcome!  Lorena High School Student Council is also putting together a slide show featuring photos of veterans.  If you would like your family member or friend to be included in the slide show, please email their photograph to lhsvetsday@lorenaisd.net .  Thank you to all of our veterans for their service!

Moonlight Madness

We would like to invite everyone to the 1st Annual Lorena High School Basketball Moonlight Madness. This will take place on the evening of November 4th in the main gym at the High School immediately following the football game (roughly 10:45 PM). This will be a chance for you to come out and meet the boys and girls teams.The cheerleaders, band and many other organizations are going to be involved. We will have a raffle, contests and prizes as well. We are hoping that you are able to attend and support the boys and girls teams as we kick off this 2016-2017 season.

Volleyball

Congratulations to the Varsity, Junior Varsity and Freshmen teams for going undefeated in district this season!  All three teams are district champions!  Varsity will play the first round of playoffs next week. The Lady Leopards will play Athens Lady Hornets at 7:00 PM at Buffalo High School on Monday, October 31st.  Good luck Lady Leopards!

LHS Band

Congratulations to the LHS band for receiving 1's from all the judges on Saturday!  They advance to Area and will compete on Saturday at 3:30 PM at Crusader Stadium in Belton.  Good luck to our band!

Pick Your Candidate Canned Food Drive

LHS will be participating in a food drive in conjunction with the upcoming election between October 25th and November 3rd. The "Pick Your Candidate" food drive will promote the election process while also helping end hunger.  All non-perishable donations will go to local food pantries.. LHS Hosts "Fish Camp" on Aug 19th


A special program designed for incoming 9th grade students at Lorena High School will be provided on Friday, August 19th from 10:00-12:00 in the HS Commons.

The agenda will include activities to familiarize students with the high school staff, daily schedule, facilities, policies and procedures. Students who attend will have access to their schedules at that time and have an opportunity to locate classrooms and lockers. 

The goal of these activities is to provide an added level of comfort for students as they move to the LHS campus.

Softball Regional Quarterfinal Champions

Congratulations to Lane Michna for winning the 4A Shot Put at the State meet on Friday!!!  Lane is the State Champion with a throw of 58' 9.5".  Outstanding job Lane!!!

Congratulations to the Lady Leopard Softball team for defeating the Groesbeck Goats last Friday in the Bi-District Round of the playoffs 13-0! Lorena will play Lufkin Hudson in the Area Round of the Softball Playoffs.

Game 3 will be 30 minutes after game 2 if needed.

Lorena Girls Track Regional Results

Congratulations to the girls track team for a great performance at the regional track meet and for placing 2nd overall in the meet!

McKenzie Tuyo placed 10th in the 100 meter dash

Lynda Farmer placed 10th in the mile and 13th in the 2 mile

Mabry Strauch placed 11th in the 2 mile

Tracy Jander is the REGIONAL CHAMPION in the 300 meter hurdles setting a new school record with a time of 44.30, 3rd in the 100 meter hurdles and 2nd in the high jump
